Scholarships

Dylan has been awarded a WWDC scholarship in 2025. Here is the submission that got him there.

In 2025, applicants were tasked with creating an interactive app playground on the topic of their choice to showcase their passion for coding. Here’s how Dylan describes his winning submission.

Binary Basics aims to teach people how binary works, and how to convert between binary and decimal, in an easy and fun way. My top priority was to make the app fun and easy to use, unlike most educational apps. I decided that I wanted the interface to be very colorful, which is why there are color choices, rounded corners, bold design, etc. I also wanted it to convey a technical context, so I used a monospaced font, which works well with numbers and math too. Created with UIKit.
