Hello! I’m currently a junior in high school pursuing the IBDP program in Costa Rica. I have a deep passion for healthcare, biology, computer science, and technology. As a self-taught dev, I recently applied to WWDC to challenge myself and further develop my skills. Outside of academics, I enjoy sailing, working out, and practicing Krav Maga.
Catalina has been awarded a WWDC scholarship in 2024. Here is the submission that got her there.
In 2024, applicants were tasked with creating an interactive app playground on the topic of their choice to showcase their passion for coding. New for 2024, 50 Distinguished Winners were recognized for their outstanding submissions and invited to Apple in Cupertino. Here’s how Catalina describes her winning submission.
Molecular Vision (MV) was designed with the primary goal of providing biology students with an immersive learning experience. The app facilitates a deeper understanding of proteins, their structures, and their crucial roles within biological processes. To bring this vision to life, MV includes a comprehensive library where users can access detailed information about each protein, explore its functions, and even visualize it in augmented reality (AR).
