In 2022, applicants were tasked with creating a Swift Playgrounds app project on the topic of your choice to showcase their passion for coding. Here’s how Flora describes her winning submission.

With no previous coding experience and a story to tell, I brought Sign Language 101 to life. I wanted to teach everyone how fun it is to start signing as I started using LIBRAS (Brazilian Sign Language). There are hundreds of sign languages in the world, but all of them have the same ingredients: the hand shape and movement. The app aims to teach everyone how to say hello in American and Brazilian sign languages, contrasting the signs while highlighting the fact that they share the same base.
