Hello! I'm Carl from Singapore. I’m an 18-year-old Web Developer with a strong interest in App Development, DevOps and Cybersecurity. Since then, I've made numerous websites and apps for all sorts of causes. I also teach programming on the side, mainly teaching Web, iOS and React Native development to various different demographics young and old. At the moment, I am also pursuing a diploma in cybersecurity, hoping to make my way into the security industry in the future.

In 2022, applicants were tasked with creating a Swift Playgrounds app project on the topic of your choice to showcase their passion for coding. Here’s how Carl describes his winning submission.
Wholesome is my attempt to use various Dev Kits to enact small positive change regarding mental health. The idea is to recognise the importance of small acts of kindness such as giving compliments and encourage them through this app. Users use their Apple Pencil to write down compliments and NaturalLanguage would detect the sentiment of the compliment to determine validity. Users roam the real world and if a person is detected in view of the camera, they can select a compliment to be read aloud.
