In 2021, applicants were tasked with building an interactive playground to showcase their creativity and technical abilities. Here’s how Juliana describes her winning submission.
A friend of mine who I've known since we were 3 was diagnosed with ASD when she was 26, the reason it took so long was because she is a woman and unfortunately, Autism Spectrum Disorder was, and still is, studied and researched based on how it affects men. Countless women go undiagnosed, or misdiagnosed. In my playgrounds, I briefly explain part of the problems that arise from this and why they happened.
