In 2024, applicants were tasked with creating an interactive app playground on the topic of their choice to showcase their passion for coding. New for 2024, 50 Distinguished Winners were recognized for their outstanding submissions and invited to Apple in Cupertino. Here’s how Haya describes her winning submission.

Every time I finish my meal at the university and want to dispose of it in the bin, I notice three similar-colored bins. I struggled to figure out where to throw my food waste. I’ve also noticed that the girls around me don't know either, leading to mixed bins. I started to think about the importance of recycling bins. Inspired by all of this, I decided to create a simple game to educate people, of all ages, who lack knowledge about recycling bins and what goes into each one in enjoyable way.
