In 2024, applicants were tasked with creating an interactive app playground on the topic of their choice to showcase their passion for coding. New for 2024, 50 Distinguished Winners were recognized for their outstanding submissions and invited to Apple in Cupertino. Here’s how Xavier describes his winning submission.

Route is a small app that aims to teach users about pathfinding algorithms. The user can draw a maze or they can generate one. The selected pathfinding algorithm will attempt to find a path from the starting block to the target block. All three algorithms also feature a small description that explains briefly the algorithm's process, and underlines its strengths and weaknesses.
