I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2022. I am currently pursuing my masters degree in CS with UTA. I am also an iOS developer with 3 published applications on the App Store. I have been developing iOS apps since May of 2020 and it is something I really enjoy doing in my free time.

In 2022, applicants were tasked with creating a Swift Playgrounds app project on the topic of your choice to showcase their passion for coding. Here’s how Shubham describes his winning submission.
This app is to allow blind people to get a better understanding of the world. This is done by extracting the text out of their surroundings and reading it to them. The experience is enhanced by speech recognition which makes it easier for a user to use the app. If the text is long, users can stitch multiple images together to create one long image and then extract the text. The extracted text is processed for errors using NLP and then read out loud using a speech synthesizer.
