I'm Yavuz Kaan Akyüz, a computer engineering student from Ankara, Türkiye. I develop iOS apps using SwiftUI and focus on creating meaningful, user-friendly experiences. I’ve built apps in areas like motivation, education, and accessibility. In 2025, applicants were tasked with creating an interactive app playground on the topic of their choice to showcase their passion for coding. Here’s how Yavuz Kaan describes his winning submission.
Readora is a vocabulary learning app. While reading, users can long-press unfamiliar words. Sometimes the meaning appears, sometimes it doesn’t. This is intentional. Words without meanings must be researched and added by the user. This combines contextual vocabulary learning with the generation effect, helping users understand words in real usage and remember them better. With quizzes, stats, and multilingual support, Readora makes learning last.
