I’m Tamera, a Software Developer born and raised in Detroit, MI. I began serious about coding in 2022, learning Front-End Web Development before entering the MSU Apple Developer Academy and becoming an app developer. I’m passionate about finding creative solutions to problems and building impactful tech experiences that people can benefit from. Outside of coding, I spend my time doing environmental justice work, nail art, drawing or taking photos.

In 2025, applicants were tasked with creating an interactive app playground on the topic of their choice to showcase their passion for coding. Here’s how Tamera describes her winning submission.
Sway is a physical therapy app designed to support people with balance disorders as they complete exercises and track their symptoms/progress over time. I focused on creating a smooth, intuitive experience with uplifting animations and a calming visual design to encourage consistent use.
